iron just blew up, with 2 children thats not good. any advice on a new one, needs to be good, and under £40.00

If you can splash out a little more, go for a permanent steam iron ( or if you want to push out the boat a steam generator). Either option will speed up your ironing and save you bags of time. I have a Morphy Richards steam generator bought for £80 in Comet, because the steam comes out all the time you only need to go over once. Saves loads of time.

Mine's a tefal superglide 20. It's great and it a self clean one. I've had it for years now. If they no longer do the same one I'm sure they will do a similar model. I bought it from argos.

Tefal are the best irons, don't burn clothes or drip water.

some of them are half price at the moment
