It's prime. I'm not sure how you're "supposed to" figure that out, but I did it by taking all the prime numbers starting with 3 (you can at least can tell it's not divisible by 2, since it's not even!), and testing them out on a calculator until the other factor ended up being smaller than the one I was using, meaning I'd been through all of the possibilities (i.e., 1061/3, 1061/5, 1061/7, 1061/11, 1061/13, 1061/17, 1061/19, 1061/23, 1061/29, 1061/31, 1061/34).

People who are saying "a number has to be prime or composite" are wrong. The integer 1 is neither prime nor composite. For that matter, all non-integers are neither prime nor composite, since it only applies to integers. Try to find factor for any of these numbers other than 1 or itself. If you've found one, then the number is composite. Otherwise, it's prime.

well everyone says it's prime mathisnt my strong suit but it would be great if some one could tell you how to figure it out instead of telling you I think it would help you more in the long run sorry I cant help I should take math classes too :(

prime means divisible by 1 and itself....it is not divisible by anything else...so it is prime
