Help!!! My husband and I can not agree on one single baby name. I really like more unique names and he likes more plain names. Everytime we start talking about what we should name our baby we end fighting. Here are some of the names I like:
Girls:
Arianna
Kyla
Savannah
Jamilynn
Brianna
Madelynn

Boys:
Brayden
Carson
Preston

My husband only likes names such as Mark, John, Amy, Jane

Please help us find a name that would possible fit both of our styles. List as many as you would like

Pair your more unique name with a simple middle name.

And please don't name your child Jamilynn.

Examples:

Arianna Michelle
Kyla Jane (Edit: I've noticed I'm not the only one who paired these two names... It may be worth considering, since most people who used your original names that you like and he likes came up with Kyla Jane)
Savannah Rose
Jamilynn - I can't do that to a child, even in the hypothetical
Brianna Marie
Madelynn Anne
Brayden James
Carson Thomas
Preston John

And what is with these people pulling names out of their backsides and saying instead of using any name you have put, you should use MY favorites?

Do you people not see that they already have a perfectly good list of names THEY like?

And what makes you folks think the husband who likes Mark and John and Jane would care to have a son named Bleu or a daughter named Anastasia Kambdyn?

While I do agree that some of your names are unique, I have to say that some of them are actually becoming very common. There are a lot of Carsons, Savannahs, Briannas, and Madelynns (usually spelled Madeleine). It's your child and of course you should name him or her whatever you want, but I don't think you want her in a classroom with 4 other Savannahs. However, you could always use the unique name for a middle name. Or better yet, combine your husbands choice of a classic name with a unique spelling or a part of one of your unique choices.

Maybe try something such as Madeline. It's kind of a plain name, but yet similar to what you like (or the opposite from that, changing the spelling of a name that your husband likes such as Aimee). Or maybe using one of the names you like for the first name and one that your husband likes for the middle (or vice versa).

Unique names work best for first names...plain one's for the middle name. Split the difference and you each get to pick one and both are satisfied.

Try compromising. He gets to pick the middle name for this one, and the first name for the next one.
Kyla Jane
Madelyn Grace
Preston Mark
John Carson

Isaiah, Amelia, Audrey etc...

Maybe go with a traditional name that your husband would like but that is not seen much in today's society so it will be unique.
