I was at the casino and a young gentleman joined the table. Said something about his elderly wife. I said"So, your a trophy husband!!" They whole table just cracked up.
So, are you a trophy spouse?
I consider myself a great catch, though I do have some medical problems, which deminish my enthusasim. That's life. I have told my husband if he would feel better with some one else, the door is open.
He assures me that I am the one for him, thou I am a few years older than him.
Maybe he sticks around just to see what life is about to hand him or maybe he's just comfortable with me:~) He's a good man

don't know if I am a trophy wife exactly but my partner (who incidentally is 9 years younger than me) said that it was my job as a music photographer that attracted him to me. (Although I also work sometimes as a nurse). He has always wanted to be a rock musician. When we meet new people he tells them who I have been working with and what I have been doing, but he has a great job (same as you did Cheryl) and I don't think he realises how proud of him I am and wont listen when I tell him.We do love each other very much and there has to be something that attracts at first . I think that any one who is a trophy, has to look out as it is probably doomed to failure.I'm sure your hubby sticks around because you are also a good person and he loves you.

I'm definitely no prize! I too am some years older than my husband. Having fibro, to boot makes me more a hindrance than a help.
I am not stressed or pushed to work for the almighty dollar for the first time in my life. I leisurely work from home for him. He is patient about the house work.
He is prematurely gray so we don't look like we have an age difference. We both feel blessed to be together in out twilight years.
Though no trophys we are both WINNERS!

I'm not married. But I hope if I do get married, it won't be JUST because my husband thinks of me as a trophy.

My hubby has always said this about me, " You are the person I strive to be." "I am one lucky man to have you as my wife. When we walk into the room, everyone looks at you!" LOL!! I suppose he thinks so as I don't see this!

Trophy? Yes, when we were young! Partners, that is what we are now! Even so, I'm still a good looking old woman! LOL!! My opinion, of course! roflol

I'm not a trophy wife, but I had to read your question to my husband. He's laughing right now because it sounds like I could have written it. I wanted to let you know you are not alone in those feelings, I'm glad I have someone to be comfortable with though. My husband is 3 yrs younger than me, I always said I wanted someone I could raise right! lol

I am afraid, we are not. Nevertheless, we are living (happily/unhappily) together over the past 30 years!
