I recently heard of this idea and I'm always looking for new sewing projects. Does anyone know where I can find a pattern or instructions on the web to make a man's button down dress shirt into a jumper for a little girl?

Here's a tutorial that I came across earlier this year.

It makes it sound easy. I haven't tried it because my daughter is 15 and much too old for this dress. But, someday I might have granddaughters....

Oh, that sounds like fun. I would take off the sleeves and put a binding around the edges. I think I would also carve out the top into a round front and back, and bind that off too. Then if it's too boxy, maybe do some long darts in front and back. If the shoulders are too wide, they could be gathered. I did that with a vest that I wear and it looks really pretty. The whole project could be done in an afternoon. Wouldn't that make a cute outfit to match Dad for portrait day or one of those daddy-daughter events.

Here is just a guess I am thinking of:
CUT OFF THE SLEEVES
AT THE BOTTOM CUT UP FOR THE INSEAM
THEM SEW THEM UP
USE THE ARM SLEEVES AS THE SLEEVE PART
I REALLY DON'T KNOW JUST A GUESS
