I hate liars, they make me sick. My sister and older brother told lies to me and about me, I made up my mind that I would never speak to them again, its nearly four years now since we last saw each other or spoke to each other. I don't think we can sort it out, because I could never believe them or trust them again.

All you can do is make a mental note that such a person cannot be believed and move on. Don't worry about making sure they know you're not stupid enough to believe them (although you could at times respond to a lie with, "I'm not sure I can believe that"). Don't get all involved in some lie they're telling either. Just change the subject. There is no point getting "all involved" with a lie by building a conversation on whatever it is the person said. There's no point is spinning your wheels over the fact that someone lies. Bear in mind that sometimes a person may lie for some reason other than because he/she wants to be deceitful. Maybe one person asks a question that is too personal, and rather than say, "You shouldn't have asked me that" the other person will believe that an inappropriate question deserves other than a legitmate response. Some people may lie to keep the peace in some situation. Some may lie to protect another person's feelings. I'm not defending lies or liars, but I'm saying that a good percentage of lies are told out of some motivation other than an intentional wish to be deceitful; so there are times when forgiving someone for an occasional lie may be the right thing to do. There are also some people who invite lies by being the kind of people who only want to hear what they want to hear, and if they don't they'll create a big problem for the person who has said something they didn't want to hear. Whatever the situation, don't spend your mental energy trying to catch liars. Lies aren't worth your time. Your lack of trust in that person is the consequence they'll earn by lying; and if they make a habit of lying to everyone they know all the time their consequence will be being seen as someone who is never trustworthy and never to be believed. That's not a small consequence.
