When I was a young teenager....one of my kid sisters brought in this "cute puppy" she had found....another stray to follow her home. -_-
I didn't like it. *Every* time my sisters found a stray dog or cat, I had to clean up after it, feed it, the works after my sisters had "forgotten about" their pet. I was the only guy in the house after my parents split up (I had to go with mom, dad was psycho), so yeah, I got *stuck* with all the unpleasant, nasty crap.
Well, this particular "puppy" was weird. Oddly fat, or at least, his tummy was swollen, again, not so good, but it's a stray, what can you do?
Well....about five days later, the worms had killed this stray puppy. He'd crawled behind the couch to die....and the smell, in mid-summer, was atrocious.
I was stuck having to handle and *bury* the little bastid. Typical.
And yeah, he smelled about as bad as anything I had ever smelled. At least I was able to handle him gently enough to get him in the *ground* before his stomach burst (and I *really* didn't need to see that).
Second place? Something less gruesome?
Ok. Go to a zoo sometime. Pay the giraffes a visit. Giraffe dung is the *worst* coming from something that isn't dead.
Thanks for your time....and I hope I didn't completely ruin your appetite for the day. ^_^ *lol*

This is completely personal to me but I HATE the smell of vanilla scented magic tree car air freshners.
I'm travel sick anyway, so that doesn't help, but the first time I got into a car with one of those evil things in it I threw up after about 5 minutes. And even now, years later, I can't smell one without heaving.

I once went on a school trip to the local sewage works. It was nasty! I live quite close to the place now too, you can smell it on a particularly bad day.

DEATH! The guy who lived next door to us died the spring of 2005. There was this putrid odor, and we couldn't tell what it was, and no amount of air freshener was getting rid of it. Some other guy was looking to buy our neighbor's SkiDoo, and there was no answer to his phone calls, and he came to knock on the door, and there was no answer there. We called 911, and come to find out he had been dead for about a week. The flies were covering the windows next door. The poor man had drunk himself to death.

Believe it or not it was an exotic Eastern fruit called a Durian. It tastes gorgeous but the smell puts you off as you put it in your mouth !
