Delaying my period with BC pills?

I posted earlier about wishing to delay my period a few days and got several good answers including a couple about using BC pills to delay my period. To continue my question... my BC pill dispenser is divided into four parts.

The white pills have 0.180 mg norgestimate and 0.025mg ethinyl estradiol.
Light blue pills have 0.215mg norgestimate with 0.025mg ethinyl estradiol.
Dark blue pills have 0.250mg norgestimate with 0.025mg ethinyl estradiol.
And of course the green sugar placebo pills.

Im confused about the effects of the norgestimate (progesterone) and why the amount in the pills varies. Could someone help me out with that?

Which pill is best for countering the onset of my period? Which should I take when my current pack runs out? Do i just start from the beginning of the new pack? Or will the higher dosage pills of norgestimate work better?

BTW I appreciate peoples concern that I might "screwing" up my body, but I can handle it this once.

Best to use the monophasic pills (same dose for 3 weeks).

If not, then you should take the highest dose and continue taking it until you want to get your period. So after 7 days, you'll need to open a new pack to get the highest dose. It's a real waste.

Ask your doctor for a few sample packs of the monophasic pills. It'll be free and you can postpone your period for several weeks.

The reason why your pack has the varying levels of hormones is to be closer to your "normal" cycle. Supposedly gives you less side effects because it's "almost like not being on the pill."

I've postponed my period many many times when going on vacation. The one time I tried using the tri-phasic pack, I had a lot of breakthrough bleeding. That's why I always use monophasic pills when trying to postpone periods.

You really would benefit from talking to your doctor about this situation.

If you'd start a new brand of BCP then you'd start it after your recent pack finishes.
