In her acceptance speech, she said, "A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award," but "no one had less to do with this award than Jesus." She then went on to say, "This award is my God now!" When the Emmy Awards air on Sept. 15, her remarks will be censored. What are your opinions on this? Is it fair or not?

I understand that it might offend some people, but it shouldn't be censored. Why give the winner an opportunity for an acceptance speech if we're going to censor anything potentially offensive that they might say?

It is silly for people to be so hardened to people using the same words in reverse. when Kathy made her remarks she used the same words as other people instead of thanking jesus she only said jesus didnt help with her award. The only fair way to censor this would be to take jesus out of all emmy award ceremonies. If you can thank jesus you should be able to say he did nothing to help you. So they should get real it is like merry christmas and happy holidays some religious freak will make a killing of donations using kathy as an example and the money will come in to stop kathy but will be spent on gold plated bathroom fitting or some other luxury for the preacher man

Censorship is a huge problem and the center of a lot of debate. I can see how it is offensive (even though it's funny) and while I don't like that she's going to be censored, the network has to worry about it's viewers. The FCC could pull funding due to something like that if enough people complain. It's a double edged sword...and until the general public lightens up and stops worrying about being so PC, censorship will continue.

I do not think it is fare, my husband and I love her show and she is a fantastic comedian, there are by far worse thinks that were said at other Emmy's, they are just picking on her.
And I am not knocking God, I am Catholic, but God had nothing to do with her winning the nomination for her
Emmy, it's just she is a very funny women!!!
Very good Question I'll give you 5 stars for this one!!!

Thanks. Now that I know I can boycott the station and any of its advertisers.

Air night, we can see how many hypocrites there are. Despite political opinions of freedoms and rights and the issue of censorship itself, we can see just how many (millions) of people will tune in.

North Korea censors its media.
Iran censors its media.
China censors its media.
The Former Soviet censored its media.
The old Iraq censored its media.

What a party.

This is "freedom of speech?" One gets censored/silenced for talking about God, Jesus, and your beliefs? This is not freedom. This is despicable.
