Usually no more than 18 inches. They will only dig down as far as the worms go. You may be surprised to know that 4 moles per acre is about all you will get. They are very Territorial and will kill any other moles in their burrows. What looks like mole city is likely to all be the work of one mole.

depends on the weather,they like worms so when wet fairlly close to surface,when frost is in ground they go down further usually anythink between 1 foot to 4 foot,best way to catch is with fork ,,if u have patient and be quick .
