I live in France and have adequate health insurance.
My job enables me to have access to private health cover which is even better.
All French people are covered and reimbursed their basic medical costs (consultation, surgery, treatments, etc).
Medical treatment is considered to be a fundamental right here.

I'm not sure if I'll know how to explain this well, in English, but I'll try. We have "free" (meaning a lot of federal taxes) medical assistance for all people, in my country, but the quality of it varies enormously. It can be excellent, at some places, and really bad, at many others. In general, people have to wait many days in line for a doctor consultation, unless it's an emergency. But, again, this can be much quicker and much better at some places.
My family 's financial situation is difficult, at the moment but, thankfully, we're still able to afford private health insurance, which is a relieve, because my Mom is fighting a serious illness, and is having a treatment of good quality.

America and NO. The hubby just started a new job and his insurance hasn't kicked in. Even when it does I have so many medical problems they probably won't insure me in the first place.
