I wouldn't think you would have a problem unless your coolant did not have enough anti-freeze to keep it from freezing.
I have started and ridden all of our bikes (both water cooled and air cooled) with little or no trouble after having left them outside overnight in sub-zero temperatures.
And we have Wyoming winters here which I would imagine are similar to Minnesota's.

With temps lower than 20 degrees, you may have a hard time starting the bike. Be sure you have the proper viscosity oil. like 5-20 for temps that low. this will help with the starting. If snow or ice are in the forecast, I would advise not riding. The cold shouldn't hurt the bike, but it might be difficult to ride a snow and ice covered bike on a snow and ice covered street.

Use a motorcycle cover. It will help to keep it warm by trapping in the heat of the engine after running. And reduce the wind chill. Bikes don't like to start in sub zero weather. When you get home every day, put a trickle charger on the battery to keep it fully charged (they come with wires that stay attached to the battery. just plug the charger to the connector on the bike. takes less then 1 minute).
A fully charged battery is needed to start frozen bikes.

Like anything else it has a higher chance of corrosion from the salt. Get a cheap cover, it would go along way to protecting it from the elements. Plus try to wash it down with clean water if at all possible. Salt and the elements are a killer on steel.

first it will get very cold internally, very wet from precip. start to rust from it and be stubborn starting, keep a very thin oil in it for winter, maybe a extra battery to jump with in a bag on the bike, and be carefull for riding the bike in winter, it can be super fun and super funny sliding around on them in winter, but ice and gravel still take there toll as do broken parts on your body, ok have fun :)
