Harry Potter... although many say this is not very challenging!
Also love the classics, Thomas Hardy (cureently re-reading The mayor of Casterbridge), Dickens, love the romantics. Also like a bit of modern trash like Sophie Kinsella. David Baddiel is also a very dark, comic writer.
What a great way to while away the hours until my baby arrives (due in 2 days.. how many books can i read before then???)

I particularly collect the Abbey Girl. s series by Elsie Oxenham, and the Chalet School series by Elinor M Brent-Dyer. I enjoyed reading those I had as a child and have unashamedly gone on reading them and adding to the set.

I like English classics like Charles Dickens, Jane Austin, Wilkie Collins etc. I also like crime books, either true crime or crime fiction.

I'm not generally a fan of fantasy, but I did enjoy the Harry Potter series and the His Dark Materials trilogy.
