Is this a trick question? Of course the Suns are a far better team (right now) than the Lakers. The Suns are championship contendors, while the Lakers will barely make the playoffs again.

Phoenix Suns. They have more depth and balance, even though they are extremely good offensively. The Lakers have Kobe Bryant, but alone he cannot win a championship. The Suns have Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Sean Marion... they are just a powerhouse of an offensive team.

My all-time favorite basketball team of course, is the Lakers. Yes, they have lowered quite a lot after Shaq and Kobe departed. I still believe the Lakers will have a chance to actually defeat the Suns in the play offs. Anything's Possible. :D

right now suns are way better. they have been favorites to win it all the last few years.
lakers right now? last few years people have been surprised they made the playoffs.
but when you look at the whole picture, lakers dynasty x100 better than the suns. suns never won a championship and everything they have ever accomplished was mediocre.

Suns. Lakers only have Kobe. Suns, on the other hand have, Nash, Amare and Marion.

The Suns are definitely are much better team. They have added Grant Hill to go along with a line-up of talented players such as 2 time MVP Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemier, Shawn Marion, and Boris Diaw. Their offense of passing the ball to the open man and run and gun style of play makes them the better team.

I think that if they played five games, the Suns would win 80% of the time. Not that this has happened recently, like a few months ago.
