Once they are old enough - I never try and guess before about 6 months - you can tell. Males have very pronounced hemipenile bulges at the base of their tails. Females will not. Now, sometimes you'll get a late developer and he'll be a female one day and then the next thing you know, your girl is a boy.

on males there are 2 bumps at the base of the tail females don't have bumps you can usually tell when they are 4-6 months old
