that the president is so bad and that things have gone to hell in a handbasket, why do you choose to still live here? I have heard people saying that the USA is not even the best in the world anymore, so why not just move to another country? thanks

Because, as a loyal American, it is my civic duty to try to improve my country.

"My country, right or wrong. When right, kept right. When wrong, made right."

I'm not leaving. To dissent is not to destroy.

I am afraid that walking out of this country is going to cause me to be imprisoned .

As a poor person with nothing of value the 1100 mile trek would certainly take me 44 days or so if I walked 25 miles per day .

Once at the border to cross I would need a passport and once in mexico or canada I would not be eligible for work as a foreign traveler .

Other nations do not just let people move in .

Yes I feel that myself and many other people who have worked hard for a living have suffered under Bush and I would love to leave if I only had the money to do so .

Because the president doesn't represent the whole of america,(a 25% approval rating) and if he or his supporters cannot debate and argue ideas in a democracy - without telling the people who disagree with them to get lost, and "get out of the country"...what are HE and THEY still doing in America?

I can only argue the question you have put up sweetheart. The bloke who appollogised doesn't represent america. I know there are some who really don't give a crap about the sufferring and deaths Bush has caused, or if the rest of the world died tommorow, but it's good that at least someone at least has a conscience.

Because we choose to fight for the things we love.

I'm sure I could learn t love another country, but I'm not ready to give up on America yet. I remember how it was before the Republicans took over. I'm still hoping we can give the Neocons who are controlling the Republican party a solid boot out of the system.

Because I love my country and Bush will be gone in a matter of time. Why didn't all the Clinton haters leave the country when he was in office?

This question remains one of the more ignorant on the YA board. Because this is our country. We will stay and bring it back to it's previous Constitutional glory.

Thumbs down for Constitutional glory. You're getting scary.
