chicken soup, garlic toast, and ginger tea - make you right as rain. The ginger tea will fix up the chills and the sniffles. I learned this in China, when we were touring the great wall and it was damp and chilly our tour guide insisted we all stop for a hot cup of ginger tea - we were already sneezing and sniffing on the bus on the way back to Beijing.
He gave us a long lecture on how important ginger tea is to our lives. I havent had a cold or the flu since, at the first hhhaaa chooooo I grab the ginger tea - and put in a dollop of honey of course to soothe your throat
Chicken soup has a natural antihistamine (sp?) and garlic is good for everything - because its nice and crisp it feels good on a scratchy throat
For the aches and pains put a wee drop of eucalyptus oil in a hot bath - and soak, the fumes will clear your head and your aches and pains will feel all better - be careful not to use too much because it CAN sting some sensitive body parts :-)

Most viral flu's have a life span of about 3-5 days, then are destroyed by the immune system...the after effects, like that of a cold, are histamine reactions that can raise hell with the body. If I were you, I would take benidryl for a day or so and see if the symptoms subside or go away. If this is a Histamine reaction you have going on, Benidryl gets rid of it. Try it, you have nothing to loose at this point. By the way, Colds are active for a maximum of 3 days, then all symptoms are from Histamine .... and benidryl gets these under control faster than cold meds. Off the shelf cold meds NO LONGER work for crap...go to the pharmacy counter and get the "Old fashioned kind" that work. Due to the ease of making crystal meth from Pseudofed, etc, these drugs are kept behind the counter now. You have to sign for them, etc....just like a controlled substance. Good luck and peace, Goldwing.

No thanks-I've got allergies all the time and that's enough. Some folks here (southeast) were talking this a.m. about how they hate for fall to come because they'd get sick like that and can't seem to get over it. I love fall myself, but I think when the weather changes so quickly it's hard on the body. We've went from 100 degrees to the 70-80 in a wk or so. Feel better soon!

I'll pass on your flu! It seems to early for the flu but, who knows?
I have heard of no cases of the flu in Texas at all! Not yet!
I hope you get feeling better very soon as I know that with this hanging on, it has to be kicking your backside! Best of luck to you and I will say a prayer for your healing!

I'm at the end of something respiratory I've had for two weeks
or so. Now our daughter is sick and has migranes with hers.
She has her own home, so she didn't catch anything from
me. I'm in the NW state of Washington. And I'm told it's either
allergies or maybe I'd had an infection related to them. Well
now we are having rain, so the dryness with lawns parched
and plants is at an end. So maybe the allergy factor with ex-
posure to dust and things flying in the air, will simmer down now. We can hope.

Thank you but no thank you. I just got over mine about 3 weeks ago. I work at my local school cafeteria, all of us in that cafeteria got sick within about a 2 week span. Don't if came from some of the kids coming threw the lunch line being sick or what. But several of the kids and staff were sick for awhile. Some even missed school. We are from Okla.

Sorry you are sick. I have it too. I went to the doctor on the 10th and she told me she had treated 80 people the day before with the same thing. Hope you feel better. I am in North Carolina.

No thanks, I neither want or need the flu. I heard that it's going around down here in South Carolina & Florida. The older we get, the longer we seem to be ill. Feel better soon!
