Well I hope you're not having sex because you feel like you have to, and really you should be in a relationship with someone for a long time before you do.
As for your date, either say "This is too soon, I want to wait this out" or say "Its a bad time, we can't go there".
Periods shouldnt be embarrassing... they happen to all girls and guys know it.

You call it your date and that HE wants to have sex...seems to me like you would want it too, if your period was not there...is this something like a "getting laid date"? Does he at least pay for dinner? You sound like you should not have sex, very young and immature. If he was at least your boyfriend, one could understand. Having sex is not something that should be planned unless you intend to become pregnant. Otherwise it should be something that happens out of a feeling, at the right time, right place and with someone you trust. If you feel already embarrassed it does not sound right to even think about having sex with that dude. Whether you are on birthcontrol, use condoms or whatsoeever...you obviously don't know that guy very well. What if he gets you pregnant or a disease. You can still get pregnant and diseases being on the pill and also using condoms. Do you think a "date" that is out to have sex and that seems to have sex without caring about you (otherwise he would maybe be at least your boyfriend) and probably had a lot of girls already is going to stand by you? Well, you are right about not having sex while on your period. Guys can be very ugly about things like that and telling their friends. Things have not changed - the more girls a guy has the cooler he is among his friends. The more guys a girl has the more sluttish she is. If you don't want to get hurt (and you seem like a nice girl) don't have sex with a guy you don't call your boyfriend. Otherwise you can count on being hit on by a lot of guys that only want one thing. Unless you want that too, go ahead, get yourself a reputation and go around...When guys have sex with a girl they don't care about, they will tell their friends all about how they got laid with that girl and brag. Guys think below their beltline. When they want "it" all their blood rushes out of their head into their penis. And with all the bloodloss in the brain you can imagine how they think.
But to answer your question. Don't necessarily tell the guy you are on your period. Just go out with him and make him clear that you are not up to it. Best, if you call him and tell him ahead of time. Maybe then he does not want to go out with you anymore because he won't get a benefit. Yes, that would probably be the best. That way you will get closer to knowing wheter he cares about you (if you want to know this)

That should be none of your date's business. You tell this nut-head that you are not interested in sex, period. I sit here and read these questions and I shake my head. I am appauled at what I read by young girls and guys. If he tries to make a move on you just say NO. He will get the message, if not then scream wherever you are and then he will get the message. Good Luck !!!!

well just tell him as gently as you can that "this is my time of the month" and maybe you could add a little something sweet on the end too like" but i promise that we will do something fun later when this passes" that way he won't be too discouraged and he'll have something to look forward too. lol. but it's up to you . but he'll probably be understanding about it, because some guys are really grossed out about it. hope this helps.

Don't you think your date is taking it a little too fast? Just tell him that you're having your period and that you're not up to it. If he insist (omg!) or he becomes all sensitive and sulky, he's not worthy of your time.

Most importantly, be safe and all the best.

if you're going to have sex with him, then why are you embarrassed to tell him you're having your period?

Simple, you say "I'm not ready" or "I'm on my period".

How long have you been dating this guy?
