I also get really tired, and I have heart palpatations...Now once I eat again it seems to subside so now I eat everytime it happens but I was wondering if it was something to be concerned about. This never happen with my other two pregnancies so I'm confused. My next ob appt. is in two weeks so I will bring this to there attention but I was looking for some answers until then. I'm not hungry when this happens, but eating seems to fix it for the most part.

It sounds like hypoglycemia, not diabetes. Your blood sugar drops. Eat whole foods... veggies, fruits, whole grain pastas/breads. Avoid white flour, rice, sugar and anything artificial. I'm hypoglycemic and it's very manageable.

It sounds to me like your body is signaling the need for food whether you are hungry or not. I would continue to eat when this occurs, or try eating several smaller meals through the day so you will be hungry when this happens. Definitely bring it to their attention at your appointment. It is possible that this pregnancy has altered your chemical balance somehow that they can fix with a prescription. Or it might be a sign of something such as becoming diabetic (which can occur when pregnant). If it gets worse or eating doesn't help, call your doctor before your appointment.

You should contact your ob as soon as possible to discuss these symptoms.

This sounds alot like your blood gloucose level is fluctuating which can result in very low or high blood sugar ranges. I have type 2 diabetes and usually when my bs level is low i experience simillar symtoms as you described such as shaking hands feeling weak and needing to drink or eat.

You may have gestational diabetes which sometimes occurs during pregnancy with some women but goes away once you have given birth. I had that as well during my first pregnancy six years ago. Having gestational diabetes during pregnancy can result in a person developing type 2 diabetes later on. However once you have been diagnosed with GD you should continue eating healthy and excersing reguarly after having the baby. I was not told this early on after given birth and four years later developed type 2 diabetes.

hope this helps --check out the website below for additional information on GD

I have to agree with the others.... I would guess its in regards to your sugar level, def bring it up to the dr. I wouldn't wait for two weeks either. Heart palpitastions are normal during pregnancy to an extent, even women that have never had them before tend to get them, your blood volume increases 30 to 50 percent... on the same token, heart palpitations can be caused by sugar levels, amung a whoile bunch of other things as well. I would get it check as soon as you can.

It sounds as though your sugar levels may be fluctuating too much. This doesn't happen with every pregnancy but does in many. Keep a snack near by for when this happens until you get to the doctor in two weeks but if it gets worse, then you should go directly to the emergency room. Good luck.

You are letting your blood sugar get too low! You should not go that long between meals. You should eat something before you start to get like this, even if it's just a snack. And try to eat whole grains and protein each time you do eat something. This will help keep your blood sugar stable.

i had the same problem when i was pregnant. when i was 7 months, i passed out on my neighbor's front porch and had to go to the hospital. they said my blood sugar levels were very low. they gave me fluids and told me when i started shaking again to drink orange juice if I'm not hungry. it would always start with my hands shaking and then my heart would start beating real fast. after that, i would get very dizzy, and if i let it go too far, i would pass out. my husband is hypoglycemic, and because of me having hypoglycemia while i was pregnant, the doctors have to watch my daughter to make sure she doesn't have it as well. maybe you should ask your doctor if that's what you have. that's what it sounds like to me. until then, make sure to eat or drink orange juice when you feel shaky. trust me, you don't want to end up in the hospital. the fluids made me feel so sick!!! good luck.

Call your doctor. It sounds like you are having blood sugar issues. Make sure if you are out and about that you have some granola bars, or some other healthy snacks that travel without having to be refrigerated.

You may be suffering from low blood sugar! I'd suggest that you try moving up that appointment or if not, making a call to your local health nurse hotline.
