I'm feeling as if I'm flagging in life recently.
Anyone got any motivating quotes, or ones which are honest about the limitations of life?

There is something very curious about knowing people's favourite quotes... it is for some reason really interesting.

Not a quote exactly - but something I try to remember when I know I'm about to put my foot in my mouth= maybe it motivates me to shut up!
The moving finger writes and have writ moves on, all your piety or wit can't draw it back to cancel half a line - nor all your tears wash out a word of it.
I may have distorted the words a little of the years - time does that.

I like the Noel Coward story when he was a committee member of the Brighton school for the blind, St Dunstans.
He was staying Brighton one weekend with friends who had a young son who was very fond of Noel. The young boy eventually wore down Cowards resistance and Noel agreed to take the boy for a walk after their Sunday lunch.
As they walked along the seafront, the boy noticed two dogs, who were fornicating in the street. Noel tried to distract the youngster, but the boy was fascinated and shouted to his 'Uncle'..."What are they doing Uncle Noel?"
Thinking quickly Coward replied..."The first little doggy has gone blind and his friend is pushing him all the way to St Dunstans!"

We use this site all the time, the following seems appropriate given your question - "Argue for your limitations, and sure enough they're yours."
My two favourites are - "While you teach, you learn." and "Carpe Diem - 'Seize the day"
It's also good for reminding you not to use cliches in business speak.
