Excited about Christmas yet?

What is it exactly that excites you so much about Christmas? I always find it fascinating to know what each person holds dear about it. To me, it is a time of remembering the birth of the Christ Child and what he would go on to do for the world in the next 33 years. Also, it is a time of seeing my children's faces light up at the beautiful decorations. I also use it as a time to teach my daughter(my son isn't old enough yet) about those who aren't able to have the kind of Christmas she has and we have her pick out things that she no longer plays with to take to those less fortunate. Christmas has become so commercial that I find it hard to get excited about it sometimes, but then I see my children's faces and remember what it is really about.

I never get excited about Christmas. I don't put decorations up, don't buy any special food, don't go to parties. My brother insists I go to them around Christmas but he knows that if he didn't come through and actually take me through, I'd make up some excuse and he's sick of me volunteering to work on Christmas Day. I did a double shift last year .... 14 hours at double time, the most profitable day ever.

Yes I am.

For the third year I will be spending the Christmas period in Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt where the temperature at that time of year is 26 degrees centigrade and the resort is absolutely buzzing with Europeans escaping the winter cold.

Yes I am! The last two Christmases have been a bit poo (illness last year and childbirth the one before that!) but my Mum is doing it this year which means far too much great food and lots of chilling out! Also my little boy is 2 this Christmas and I'm hoping he'll be a bit more into it this year!

I am writing out my Christmas cards this very evening,I will be drinking a glass or two of sherry whilst singing along to Bing Crosby does Christmas Carols.I am deliriously excited about it.

Ooooooh!! >:-( Don't start!!! I work for 999, not looking forward to drunken idiots calling me because someone somewhere has done something stupid or lots of calls about domestic abuse. It really isn't the best time of year!

If I don't get to do this at the time, I'll tell you all just now.

Thanks for reminding me....now i have to save up all my money to buy presents for other people, work my fingers to the bone cooking and preparing everything. Trawl round the shops for hours carrying heavy bags, try and find new hiding places for all the kids presents....blah blah blah..the list is endless..and why? So some idiot with a big beard and a red suit can get all the credit!! Bah Humbug..i hate christmas!!

My son isn't talking to me because I have been humming Christmas songs, I started shopping for it in February (I have 18 nephews, nieces and godchildren) and I Love It. Strangely though I don't put up the decorations until 23rd of December!
