I left home to visit my family in another state because of an emergancy, I was just emailed that my boyfriend packed up all my belongings and put them in my car on the street. I had no idea we were even having problems. I live in California and visiting in Idaho. Is that legal?

Most states have law that say it is illegal if your on the lease or if
if you can prove residency.By that it means if you have bills in your name there or if you receive mail( not junk mail) like personal
mail or such.
If either is proven then he has to go through an eviction notice and hearing. You can also persue legal action against him for any and all lost, stolen, or damaged property.

sorry to hear about this sounds like he is a bit of a child it the way he did that hope it works out for you.

No, especially if you are on the lease. If you were just living with him he has to give you 30 days notice. Aside from your personal relationship you are considered a month to month tenant. That is a tenant who does not have a lease. He only has to give you 30 days to vacate, but even then he can't just put your belongings out. Sue him.

sometimes we are the last to know when i was visiting family my ex had his girlfriend in our home and when i returned he tried every thing he knew to pick a fight so i would leave, even told me to get out. if your not on the lease he can make u get out. i would just chalk it up to experience and move on this man has shown u how he really feels about u.

Yes it is. That's one of the drawbacks of just living together. There is no legal and binding contract (marriage license) so he can do whatever he wants, hopefully you don't share a joint bank account, he can take all of the money out of it and open up a bank account in his name only leaving you with nothing.

If you are paying and on the lease no. If you are just living on his lease you have to fight for your rights but he just cant throw you in the street.
