My uncle, who was just twenty years older than me, and lived with us like a brother. He was tragically killed in a car accident. In the last conversation I had with him over the phone i said "I don't have an uncle", meaning that he didn't come to see us enough since moving out (he knew my meaning). I wish i had just said "I love you", as it is quite cutting knowing the last words i said were so poigniant. It is the tenth anniversary of his death on Wednesday, and it is also the day that my first child is due to be born. I will be telling her i love her everyday.

Yes; I had laid my heart on the table for this guy I had been seeing on and off for a few years; every time it felt like it was going somewhere, he would take fright and back off. i put up with it, cos he was my friend too, and good and kind to me - he just couldn't commit himself in any way.
I finally met someone I wanted to get serious with, and would you belive, on only our third date together, I bumped into my old boyfriend. He was totally shocked to see me with someone. He rang me the following day and asked to meet me, which I agreed to. He then told me he'd always loved me, and had he left it too late to tell me?
Well, yes, he had. He'd taken me for granted for years, and I just gave up on him in the end when I met my current man.

Of course, it's how life is. And it's usually because the man is too shy or immature.

Yes, I had already moved on ... and for good reason. Some people don't realize what they have until it's gone. He learned a lesson ...
