I know that Bellichek messed up and he has to stop doing that. But really...look at how many coaches and players have said that it's all around the league. One coach said that that's just part of the game now and it's not a big deal. So everybody thats calling the Pats cheaters...I bet your teams doing the same thing they just didn't get caught. If the Pats weren't as succesful as they are Mangini wouldn't have told Goodell he did what he did. And there's no way that the Pats would be able to be as good as they were with just signals. The playes still have to go out and perform.
Oh...and by the way on ESPN they just did their picks for tonight. Unanimous decision. Pats!
The worst thing Bellichek did was get caught.

Inkester...your right he was arrogant and it was dumb of him to keep the camera on the sidelines.
But you went off and made yourself look like a fool with all the couples talk.
So now anything you just said I disregarded.

Wrestle Man I do see what your saying and I have thought about this before. And it gets really frustrating when you think of those calls, but I've come to a concluion. I just don't think that the league had anything to do with those calls and I think we just need to let it go. Four is a good number, I mean come on that was Bobby Orr's number. So I'm thinkin four Super Bowl rings will just fine for this "cheater" of a coach. GO PATS!

Now, don't get me wrong: New England probably did deserve to be punished by the commissioner for getting caught videotaping New York's defensive staff as it signaled plays in to its players. But a first-round draft pick? Methinks the punishment doesn't fit the crime.
Is this really worse, for instance, than Mike Tice scalping Super Bowl tickets? Or a Detroit assistant coach getting caught naked at a drive-in? It's common knowledge (trust me) that teams look at defensive signals through binoculars, and have been doing so for years. That the Pats took another step, and started taping them, is a clear violation of an NFL edict. But make no mistake: they're not the only people trying to learn their opponents' signals. That's a practice as tried and true as eye black.
So is the fact that they used videotape so heinous that we should have 31 first-round draft picks in the '08 draft, instead of 32? Let me put it this way: There's no way on Earth the commissioner takes away the Patriots' first-rounder if they hadn't had two (one from San Francisco, and their own). But because the Pats did have two, Roger Goodell could "make an example" of them, and show his critics that he's not the butt-boy of Bob Kraft, one of Goodell's biggest supporters on his way to winning the commissioner's job. The world will keep spinning on its axis, but this heavy-handed punishment does not fit the crime.

got caught by whom and league thats not on the up and up itself. they talk about cheating and fine bellichek but the league can cheat too. here`s an example. Pats and the colts playoff game. Near the end of the first quarter or the first half there was a late pass interference call of the pats d that led to a colts score and possibly cost the pats the game. Pittsburgh won it`s first super bowl in a while. Last years playoffs is was the colts , pats, saints and the bears. Before the superbowl was even played there was talk about two black head coaches possibly metting in the superbowl for the first time. after the Bears had won, I knew that the Pats had an even bigger challenge on their hands. What happened a bad roughing the passer call on tully banta cain kept the colts drive alive and the had won. do you see my point.

I agee...People who are calling the Pats cheaters don't understand all the bad blood between Belichick and Mangini...and the videotape thing was just because of that...the Jets game...Don't get me wrong...Belichick shouldn't have put the Patriots in that situation...but it was just about the Jets and Mangini...
Now, people are trying to bring into question the Super Bowl wins...Andy Reid himself (Eagles-one of the Pats Super Bowl victims) said that the speculation of the Pats doing that for the Super Bowls was ridiculous, and that the Pats just outplayed the Eagles...Andy Reid has more class than a lot of fans...and some coaches...Dungy, of the Colts made a reference to it being the negative that is being focused on instead of the positives of week 1...I'm not sure if that was a jab at the Patriots or the media...probably both...
At any rate, it is out there now...The NFL will be watching them...What are all the Patriot haters gonna say when the Pats win the Super Bowl anyway?
"Gee...I guess they really ARE that good!"

I totally agree with you. They won that game against the Jets fair and square. They confiscated the camera early in the first quarter, so how do u exlain the rest of the game.? As for all these idiots who keep saying they should be stripped of their Superbowl rings..give me a break. Sounds like people are just jealous of them because they are so much better than other teams!!! And yes..all teams steal calls...they just got caught. Get over it people, and dont hate them just because they are the best!!!!! GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I guess that if you murder someone & don't get caught, that makes it OK? The thing that makes this so disgusting is that Bellichek thinks he's above the rules & acts like this is no big deal. Well it is & he & the team got off waay to easy. I've always thought he was a classless bum & he's not doing anything to disprove that.

NO the worst thing Belichek did was to be a good for nothing rich, cheat on his wife and discard his mistress, arrogant without a personality human. He can win without cheating I'll give him that. Success in professinal sports breeds greed and arrogance. Hey look at me I can have it all. Mabye Belichek can date the mother of Tom Brady's son, Tom has the Brazilian babe. Wow that would be an exciting date. As exciting as watching paint peel. Believe it or not I am a long time Pat's fan. Just hate arrogance.

Please don't rationale a wrong by saying everyone does it. Cheating is cheating, wrong is wrong. I agree the players still have to perform and they do have great players. They may win the Super Bowl. But they still cheated no matter how you look at it.
