Influence is peddled just like soap, shampoo and mouthwash.
There are various 'spheres of influence', and each 'sphere' has its own 'star'. Oprah Winfrey is perhaps the most positively influential person in the entertainment 'sphere'. Jimmy Carter is probably the most influential person in the 'sphere' of good works and humanitarian effort.
As for negative influences, George W. Bush is absolutely the worst influence in the history of American politics.
