What is the value of x?
Ive tried loads of numbers, including negatives. But I cnatfind the answer

7 + x - 4 = 7 + 2(x - 1), simplify the left side, and distribute the 2 on the right
x + 3 = 7 + 2x - 2, now simplify the right side
x + 3 = 2x + 5, subtract x from both sides
3 = x + 5, subtract 5 from both sides
-2 = x
check that both sides equal the same thing:

7 + -2 - 4

so we have
