Yes . There is a whole section in Science which deals with small dense masses .It is Called Particle Physics.
Paricle Physics experiments with the Elementary particles.
these particle are broken down into pieces inside a synchotron and the pieces are observed. After that they are named. However the pieces are short lived and breakdoen spontaneously as radiation.
Some of these components are called quarks. which are belived to have a mass charge which make up the elementary components of the Atom.
Nevertheless there has been no ID for what these supposedly charges particles are making up inside the charges of the Electron Protons and Neutrons.

For an elementary theory of mass structure in more simple terms see the Published theory of Milton W. Monson.

An electron is a basic particle, protons and neutrons are made of quarks.

Yes according to the Standard Model of physics:

Protons are made up of 3 quarks, specifically 2 up quarks and 1 down quark.
Neutrons are made up of 3 quarks, specifically 2 down quarks and 1 up quark.
Electrons are not made up of anything, they are a type of lepton and are fundamental.

Quarks and leptons are fundamental, and according to this model cannot be broken down into further constituent parts. Of course this may not be true according to other theories such as string and M theory.

the theory is that protons and neutrons are made up of elementary particles called quarks (and gluons you could say). there are 6 types, or flavours, of quarks. up, down, top, bottom, strange, and charmed (they seem like weird names but theyre named that so its easy to remember them). protons are made from 2 up quarks and 1 down quark held together by gluons. neutrons are made up of 1 up quark and 2 down quarks and are also held together by gluons.

an electrons is not made of anything. it is an elementary particle called a lepton.

and according to a semi-popular theory called string theory. all quarks and other elementary particles are made up of tiny vibrating strings of energy.

added later: there is another theory that says quarks could be made of smaller point-like particles called preons.

Quantum mechanics along with high energy experiments have broken down the nuclear particles to dozens of smaller particles, many with "cute" names such as quarks.

String theory proposes that all particles are made up of multi dimensional (existence may require 11 dimensions) sub- particles many, many, many times smaller then the atomic particles.
