It takes several years for a period to become normal. In the beginning, some girls skip several months between periods. It is nothing to worry about. Your body is just trying to get use to the new horomones.

Don't worry about what that "ET" said. When you first start your period, usually it is irregular for the first year because your body is getting used to it's regular cycle. You should go to Hastings (or any book store) and get "The Period Book" by Jennifer Gravelle. I learned a lot of useful stuff from that book! Or you should just talk to your mom....she has better answers than the internet lol!

I'm sure it is just a hormal imbalance and nothing serious to worry about. Keep a log of when it happens and speak to your doctor about it, they will have more insight on this topic. It takes a while before the body normalizes itself.

It takes a while to regulate to have it every month...i started mine when i was about 11, i am now 18 and mine is still not regulag...i will skip a few months in between periods. i read somewhere that it can take up to 3 years to regulate monthly...but there is birth control that can regulate it if you think it would be best...

You are still young I am assuming and if you have not had it that offten your body is still working out when to have it. It could be a vortiy of reasons, from stress, to tiredness. Not eatting enough or eatting to much.
if you have any other concerns you might want to see your doctor right away.

You might have and irregular period, that means that instead of once a month it has no schedule it just comes and goes.

It could be of many reasons. You need to ask your mom to take you to see a doctor. You are supposed to have your period monthly.

I don't suppose you're anorexic? Because Amenorrhea (absence of periods for three months or more) is often caused by that.
Go to your doctor!
