USC flat out handled a very strong team yesterday, they are number one. With Cal looking so, so (the Tennessee win is looking less and less impressive,) UCLA (yeah right,) and the supposed up and coming Washington getting handled by a Big 10 team, the rest of the PAC 10 is looking pretty weak. USC is going undefeated. There is absolutely no one left to beat them on their schedule.

Oklahoma, LSU, and Florida are looking great. Oklahoma has no one left to play besides a suspect Texas team and will go undefeated. But LSU and Florida have no one else to play besides themselves. Everyone but SEC fans knows the rest of their schedule is weak. The winner of the LSU/Florida game will meet USC for the National Championship leaving Oklahoma and the rest of the "Bowl Sub-Division," including my Mountaineers, wishing for a playoff system to see who really is the best team.

Your thoughts?

Hey SOK, I really think that playing Louisville, South Florida, Rutgers, and Cincinnati will turn out to be a not so easy schedule. Maybe other years yes, but live in the present please.

Oh yeah and what is all this crap about ASU. They have beat three teams with losing records at home.

No worries here. We've seen this before from USC and Oklahoma.

For SOK C... a little something to consider:

Record of USC's remaining opponents, 19-10 ( 65% win pct.)

Record of WVU's remaining opponents, 18-8 ( 69% win pct.)

# of top 30 teams left to play for USC, 4 ( ranked 6,13,28 and30)

# of top 30 teams left to play for WVU, 4 (ranked 11, 18, 23,29)

I don't see the weak schedule you are referring to, unless,of course, you are including USC's schedule in your argument.

For Smiley...Slaton over-rated?!?! Wow... that is definately one of the least thought out conclusions I have ever read on this sight. I'm going to post his stats for you, so you can explain to the rest of us exactly what part of his abilities you find over-rated.

Slaton's Career

G rush yds yds/g avg td rec yds yds/g td
25 519 3264 130.6 6.3 41 43 528 12.0 5

Show me someone in college with better stats. Come on. If he is so over-rated, there must be at least one player with better numbers, right? Good luck, chump.

Hey, Skins Fan, you were propping up the PAC 10 a while ago, but went UCLA and Washington lost now they're a weak conference wow this is BS man. The PAC 10 still have USC, CAL, Oregon and ASU, the PAC 10 is still one of the elite conference in America. This year college football expect the unexpected as UCLA, Auburn, Michigan and Louisville proved that the preseason ranking is overrated based on returning talents. But this year and every year if you don't play defense you will lose against a top notch competition, a team cannot just out score other team all the time to win and Louisville prove this theory. You are right if USC and LSU go undefeated they will meet in the BCS title even if West V. and OK go undefeated, their schedule just doesn't compare to USC and LSU in term of strength of schedule. "Yes we do need a playoff system", I agree with that, i like to see a plus 1 system, where you take the 4 top teams and matched 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3 and the winner take on each other. Sorry but your Mountaineers schedule is weak and they don't play a lick of defense.

Nah, I dont think USC will make the championship game, and if they do they won't win, as they will be the favorites. Past 3 years the underdog has always won. Who expected Florida to beat Ohio? Who thought that Texas would be close to USC? Who thought that USC would be close to OU? Somehow the underdog is winning a lot of championships. Also the most dangerous opponent isn't the "strong" team but the team that hasn't won a game in the year and then somehow upsets ya.

Longhorns all the WAY!!! (yeah I can dream too)

I don't agree with you about the Pac 10 looking weak. You left out Oregon and Arizona State, who are both still undefeated and have looked impressive in getting there. California still looks impressive, as Tennessee's loss to Florida was made worse by their own self-implosion with turnovers. And UCLA was a lot worse team last year and ended up beating USC.

The Trojans will be favored in every game left, but they have some tough stretches coming up, especially having to go to Eugene, Berkeley, and Tempe.

OU is looking incredible, and the rest of the Big XII doesn't seem to be in their class. But, we've seen this from OU in the past, and they've only gotten one national title out of it under Stoops. LSU and Florida still have some tough games left (LSU has South Carolina next week, has to go to what's looking to be a decent Kentucky squad in four weeks, and to Tuscaloosa in the beginning of November) while Florida isn't at home the entire month of October and has to go to Columbia in November.

This season is FAR from over.

Who cares, its week 3. Does Oklahoma remember what KState did to them in 03 when they thought things were in the bag. I know USC remember what happened with UCLA last year. Does LSU remember when Alabama shut them out when they thought it was an easy win. Will Michigan ever live down the oversight of App State? Being an WVU fan do you remember South Florida? Bottom line is every game counts. You dont show up to play, you might leave with a big L.

I wouldn't concede the National Championship yet. USC is gonna get a tough game from Cal and Oregon (and have to play them on the road), Florida has to worry about South Carolina (whom they barely escaped a defeat in Gainesville last year), LSU has to deal with a resiliant Alabama team (and Auburn will play them tough...even though they haven't played anyone else tough). Oklahoma has more than Texas to worry about...I think they lost to Texas Tech last year, and Oklahoma St. will play them tough too. There's plenty of room for a slip up to occur between now and January's BCS title game.

West Virginia sucks....
Did you watch the Marshall game? Slaton is so overrated....
I'm betting one of the USC LSU Oklahoma teams makes the national championship game and the other will not be from the big east.

i might purely turn a coin to settle in this one. USC-- lost to Stanford, that hurts. a minimum of they now will play some ranked communities, yet are those communities puffed up? there is not any championship game interior the Pac10, that hurts power of schedule additionally. Oklahoma-- a minimum of their loss replaced into to a extra constructive team than Stanford. although, the great 12 looks very susceptible this year. the only 2 ranked communities on the schedule have been UT and Nebraska....we see how good they even have been after the fact. The Championship game will help in the event that they might win it. I hate the two communities, and my Tigers ought to conquer the two interior the NC game. i think of i might might desire to furnish the element to USC through fact the ranked communities, susceptible as they are, will a minimum of be ranked on the tip and help power of schedule. regrettably for the two communities, OSU performs one in all those susceptible schedule that they could proceed to be undefeated. i wish Michigan stomps them and wins the Big10 so as that Carr keeps his interest and Les Miles maintains to be right here for now. ****be conscious--- Dont provide me that crap approximately injuries. USC has arguably extra expertise and intensity than the different team. injuries shouldnt count. Im unlikely to apply injuries as an excuse for LSU, theyve had a minimum of as many as USC. If the extra youthful adult adult males cant step up while they might desire to, it extremely is advisable to reconsider your recruiting.

The only team that can beat USC is the 1995 huskers and qutaim phycics is not at that point so USC is#1. They beat down a good Ne team, they are the best and then they are rest, the ones who can beat them this year is themselves.
