It's worth it! Not sure how much you get for a pound but when my hubby is on a job site that is scraping this out, all the guys pitch in to get it weighed & they split the money.

Use the yellow pages and call a local scrap metal buyer to find out the price per pound. Then you can decide weather or not it is worth your time and gasoline.

Judging by the amount of copper that gets stolen from construction sites, I would say there must be money in it. They should make buyers take names and card people just like pawn shops have to do.

typically, scrap yards will buy in bulk. You can try to sell it but check current metal indexes for prices. Copper is relativley heavy and can fetch a nice price.

Coper has been going up in price a lot. Plus you are helping the environment. Break even wouldn't be doing it for nothing, but it pays pretty good.
