Hi, I'm going to have twin boys in a month. Me and my husband have agreed we're going to name one of our sons Jared, but we can't decide on the other's name. Could you please say what you think about each name or at least your favorite three?
Jacob
Joshua
Jayden
Johnathan
Jack
Jace
Jason
Jeffrey

Jace
Jason
Johnathan (Nathan or John)

Jayden just sounds to girly for me
Jack (well kids are cruel and they might but a three letter word that begins with an a and that is consider to be a donkey in the dictionary; if you know what i mean.)
Jeffery is not such a cool and hip name for a kid born in the 21st century.
Joshua is used so many times it's not even funny and it gets boring after awhile.
and the same for jacob.

See Jace is a new and cool name.
Jason even though it was used in the 20th century too it's still cool, and Johnathan is strong no matter how oild it is and if he doesn't like it then he can call himself nathan or john which ever way he likes.

I like Jared, but I wouldn't choose any of the others for the second twin, I'm afraid. I just prefer to give them their own names rather than picking one name (Jared) and then trying to force the second to somehow match. Trust me, twins are compared enough, without their names being overly-similar as well. ;)

Some others that seem fitting as a brother to Jared ...

Asher
Nathan
Nathaniel
Sean
Finn (or a longer form -- Finley or Finnian, for instance)
Flynn
Levi
Ezra
Adam
Andrew
Timothy
Asa
Caleb
Owen
Eli - Elijah, if the J sound really appeals that much ;)
Gabriel
Isaac
Kyle
Micah
Samuel
Seth

Hope that helps, and congrats on the twins. ;)

Personally, I wouldn't alliterate their names.

Out of this list, I would go with Joshua or Jacob.

I would go with Devin, Flannery, Keith, or Willis. They all have the same meaning as Jared (descendant), so they have a common tie in their name.

If you want to alliterate their names, I would go with Jerico, Joel, or James, because they are all Hebrew.

Personally, I wouldn't give them both alliterate names. It will create confusion throughout their lives, and will cut down on their ability to create their own identities. It is hard enough that people will assume they are the same in every way when they will not be, let alone by adding on to it by giving them similar names. With that in mind, if you HAVE to pick one of these names, then go with Jonathan (get rid of the superfluous H) or Joshua. They sound the most different, compared to Jared.

Congratulations!

I really like Jacob, Jack, and Joshua. I know that this isn't on your list, but James might be cute too. Good luck with your babies, twins will be a lot of fun I'm sure, and they will always have a friend to play with growing up. I hope that you find a good name, all of them sound good to me.

Best of luck!

Jack - It's alright.
Jace - I love this name, plus I think it sounds really cool with Jared
Jason - Sorry, but I don't really like this name.
Jeffrey - It's a okay name.
