I think forming a united space agency for all of humanity would be a great idea.

Bad idea, different space agencies like NASA (U.S.), ESA (Europe), JAXA (Japan), ISRO (India) etc... means one will want to do better than the other (competition).

We have two big airline companies, Boeing and Airbus. So we have competition between the two, in general the end result is a better product. The same is true of space agencies!

Space exploration would go better if we could get all of the great minds out there to use their talents for something useful like space exploration instead of something frivilous and unpractical as making your cell phone smaller, or making your tv biger etc etc etc

Fat chance. The UN can't even get america to act like humans on this planet.

yes and no, putting them together will take a lot longer to do something, haviong them compete on each other means they have to get going on new things to win over the other

It's a terrible idea just exactly because it probably --would-- end up like the UN.

I think that would be great. We would have all knowledge and funds put together.
