I think I am currently experiencing instabilities from not having a powerful enough power supply unit. I plan to get a new PC in decemeber, but could anyone help me to maybe disable one of the drives to improve my gaming?

Right click the My Computer icon on the desktop and hit Properties.
Go to the Hardware tab and then click Device Manager.
Expand the DVD/CD-ROM drives by clicking the + sign next to it
Right-click on the device that you want to disable and then select Disable

right click the drive, click properties.

click the the hardware tab, select the drive from the All Disk Drives list, and then, at the bottom, click properties

and then on the bottom of the General tab, of the drive you selected, click the drop down arrow on Device Usage and select Do Not Use This Device (disable)

Pull the plug off the Motherboard.

Unplug the power connector.
