ive heard this stereotype. had a jewish roommate once who didn't really care for chinese food, but that doesnt matter anyways. its still just a stereotype - it comes from the other stereotype that on christmas only chinese restaurants are open.

Never heard that. Unless you're talking about the thing of Jewish people going out to Chinese restaurants on Christmas, etc? If so, that's because in a lot of places they're the only restaurants open.

Edit:

Hey, that's not a stereotype in my hometown, it's the truth! Believe me, I've looked for other places on Christmas day. Some other places might open for dinner (if you made a reservation or don't mind a long line), but at lunch Chinese is it.

People in New York eat a lot of Chinese food especially in the city, and 25% of the US Jewsh population live in New York. This is probably the genesis of this stereotype.

Among the 306 Commandments that the Jewish have and are hopefully following is to not eat any fats, cook meats and remove the fats, not to eat rare meat, and only to permit Olive Oil as an oil. Chinese restaurants are probably the worst/last place they would go to.

I never heard that, and everyone has different tastes, it's just a stereotype if even so...

Do all catholics eat burgers?
Everyone is different.
Religions are just beliefs it doesn't make what they look like, where they are from, or much less what they eat.
