Besides Trick or Treating and craving a pumpkin, what other ways do you celebrate this holiday?

Go to a local congregation that is putting a carnival-type festival together. Many of the churches are calling these a Fall Harvest Festival. Alot of rides and games w/ candy or something like it, maybe a bounce house, music and a costume contest, a huge crowd of people at some, and all under city lights.

My favorite was a variant on trick or treating. A group of us from law school did the following.

About a week before Halloween we flyered a neighborhood telling the homeowners that on Halloween we would be collecting canned goods for an area food pantry.

Then Halloween night during trick or treat hours, we dressed up in costume and four of us went door to door while one person drove a car with the drunk open (cans are heavier than candy).

We had a ton of fun. Becuase we got to go trick or treating well past the generally accepted age. And helped a food bank.

Leave it alone. The fact that Halloween and celebrations like it are steeped in paganism. The apostle Paul wrote: “I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons.” (1 Corinthians 10:20-22) He also asked: “What common interest can there be between goodness and evil? How can light and darkness share life together? How can there be harmony between Christ and the devil? What can a believer have in common with an unbeliever?” (2 Corinthians 6:14-16, Phillips) The Bible thus condemns the whole idea of putting a Christian mask on a pagan practice!

Also, the Bible warns against the practice of spiritism. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12) While it is true that the vast majority of those who celebrate Halloween would claim to spurn Satanic practices, we should, nevertheless, be aware that historically this holiday has close connections with the occult. Thus, it can serve as a door leading to spiritism, especially for impressionable youths. Pagan rites and traditions tainted by spiritism simply have no place in Christian worship; they are far from harmless.

Try scaring yourself a little, go for a walk on a windy moonlit night when the trees are swaying and the wind is moaning.
Or paint ghostly faces on a bunch of white pumpkins and line them up on the mantel to lend a creepy aura to your home. Get a bunch of friends together and watch scary movies.

Why would anyone want to celebrate a Hoilday dedicate to dead people ?

The Catholic church instituted this hoiliday, did you know that ?
It is to promote the Immortal Soul Doctrine, that satan told back in Genesis 3:4.......
Satan: "Ye shall not surely die".

Immortality ?

1 Timothy 6:15 "Which in his times he shall show, [who is] the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom [be] honour and power everlasting. Amen".

Question: Does man have anything Immortal about him ?
The Bible says: NO !
God alone, has Immortality, in any shape or form.
***************************************************
2 Timothy 1:10 "But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel".

Question: Why do people believe that man was given a immortal soul, in the beginning with Adam & Eve.....when it is plainly stated, that only thru the Gospel message, is the possiblity of Immortality comes ?
***********************************************
Romans 2:5 " But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life".

Question: Did anyone see that ONLY by well doing, does one gain immortality ?
******************************************************
Ezekiel 18:4 " Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die".

Question: Does anyone know what 'Immortality' means ?

Answer: 'Immortality', means......'not subject to death'.......immortality means, you cannot die !
********************************************
Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Question: Does the word, 'destroy'....mean, to go on existing ?
************************************************
Job 4:17 " Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker? "

Question: If Immortal means, not subject to death...........what does 'mortal man', mean ?
******************************************
Satan commenced his deception in Eden. He said to Eve, "Ye shall not surely die." This was Satan's first lesson upon the immortality of the soul, and he has carried on this deception from that time to the present.
