I am 21 years old and I am recently starting to think about a career in acting. I have no acting experience but I think if I start now I can get into it. Now most people I know start theater very young and I regret not doing it then, but I really want to do this. How can one go about doing it at such a late age?

I just watched a movie where there were lots of unknow actors in an hospice.
I am quite sure that if I wanted I could get such a part at age 97, just put name down and wait till the offer comes in.
here http://www.job--listings.info there's a talent site where you put your name down for free, they have jobs offered throughout the States. It might not pay the earth but you can be working next week.

acting is hard work at any age. the good thing about starting older is that you are matured and will be willing to work. but then again there are people of your age group who have been acting and all sorts for all their lives. if you are going to start at all start NOW. get a private coach as there arent many schools you can attend now. see how you get in with that then you need an agent to get into tv or theatre. take up extra work first to get used to sets and get experience. you cant expect to be brilliant straight away. its like playing an instrument for the first time. 21 is a bit late but if you put in 110% then it could be a possibility. good luck

Its never too late to start. Get involved with community theater and even take classes at a community college.

I've been doing this for sometime and we have a woman in my class who is in her 50's and having a great time!

Most places want to see a 4 year degree in theater arts, drama or production art. Then where do you want to start Broadway or in movies. Either one I would figure a year at least before getting anything.

Then again you could be at a drug store soda counter and someone could see you there. (ask you parents or grand parents)

You are probably at just the right age. You do not want schools, but you need experience and classes and guidance.
