I like to keep up with all the local and world
news. All the news people seem to be too
dramatic with their news. Sometimes I like to
watch and listen to the late nite news analyst
and even then some of those are full of it.

I think local news stations tend to be better at reporting the news, but even in Seattle, the news outlets fail to report Peace demonstrations or a large demonstration through the streets of Seattle claiming: "9/11 was an Inside Job."

The major networks including PBS, will pick up a story if it breaks in a major news organization without proper vetting. They assume the story is true (if it is not too politically sensitive) if a creditble media outlet reports it. That's how Al Gore was accused of saying he "inventing the Internet". (He never said this, although its been reported everywhere.)

PBS repeated a simulation of the pancake theory of the 9/11 Twin Tower collapse although any physics major can calculate that the speed of collapse will be many times slower than the approximate free fall speed of the collapses of these two buildings.

The organizations are mostly concerned about increasing ratings, reducing costs, and avoiding attacks from powerful interests (who also fund them through advertising).

I try to find information on the Internet and spot check the assertions. It may lead you to the realization that the media likes to gloss over a lot of dirty stuff. For example, the CIA has been involved in covert and illegal operations, destabilizing governments throughout the world for decades. Some of the gun dealing and drug dealing has been exposed in the mainstream press.

Critical economic topics like "Peak Oil" have been underplayed.

Getting to the truth is hard work.
