Oh my goodness, one of my neighbours has a motorbike and a car with a loud exhaust (subaru), at 7.30 this morning they were out with engines running for atleast 3 minutes before they pulled away. He sometimes even goes out and switches his motorbike on, revs it a few times then turns it off. VERY VERY ANNOYING

There is a saying---loud exhausts save lives,it is very true,if you hear it you are warned, and look for it.I have ,several times, been nearly mowed down, by some silly sod on a well silenced byke,if your byke is silenced, you should use the horn, thats what it is for.If you only have a licence to drive one type of vehicle, you are at a disadvantage of not having experience on other vehicles. If you can see a truck drivers face in his mirror, then he can see you ,but not otherwise,it,s all about positioning and anticipation. As for bladdering up and down the road revving the nuts off your engine, only young inexperienced twits usually do that.

I agree that loud exhausts on small, relatively low powered cars, do annoy me. However, the sound from a powerful V8 sports car is a noise I really enjoy.

They are annoying, yes, but worse are the white, chav car drivers usually aged 17-25, with either a Subaru or Corsa with a fat exhaust on them, playing awful c-Rap music pretending to be Black guys.WITH fat exhausts and noisy cars!!

Every morning this woman parks at the side of my house to drop off her kids at school, and she drives the most annoying loud Subaru, but the thing that really bugs me is that she has to rev her engine loads! Why?

I don't mind a naturally loud, tuned exhaust, like on an Aston Martin or TVR or the like, but all the chavs in their Corsas and so on are all mouth and no trousers.

people always says they get better gas miles with a loud muffler and pipes. they should be getting better miles with a factory sysm. and why do people that ride bikes think that they have to sit at the lite and keep on twisting the thrddle and gooseising the motor, dont they like to hear the sound of the motor chugging as she sits waiting to move on.. not rum-rum-rumm. like blump- blump=blum,p better huh//

I saw a bumper sticker that said, "Loud tailpipes save lives"
I am tempted to make and have on hand bumper stickers of my own that say, "They won't save yours".

Because car drivers are incapable of using their mirrors & paying attention to what is going on around them.
When car drivers start looking, bikers will stop making a racket.
Loud pipes save lives!
