In response to Danielle, I tried that once and nearly got the sh*t kicked out of me. It was an abusive relationship and he was definately a pathological liar. He couldn't understand why I'd try to contradict him, in his mind it was ALL the time (actually twice). It just got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore.

Yes I know some of these people and I keep away from them because I find them very annoying! Same for those who call on on the phone to repeat the same story over and over and don't even bother asking you how you are doing!

Yes, I had a friend that was like that. Let me emphasize "HAD". It wouldn't matter where we were, what we did or who was even there. She always made it sound like she was the most effected by it. Made me nuts!! But, I exposed her for what she really was, in public...a liar. Last I heard she was living down state somewhere, up to her old usual self, lying to other people.

Not really. My friends are mostly from higher level - in terms of ego/self confidence and they don't need to make up stories to make themselves look good. Likes attract, if you know what i mean.

they are not always lying.
they could re-tell any story without lying at all, but the way in which they tell it, u know, their tone of voice and stuff like that affects the listner.
