You human beings do no longer probable get it. it is not approximately oil interior the small term which you suspect - that that's for companies or Halliburton or whatnot. For the previous 4 an prolonged time or greater, the middle East has been strategically substantial as a results of oil. no longer in basic terms to the U. S., yet to the completed international. a significant disruption interior the transport of oil to Europe or Japan could have significant financial and political repercussions international extensive, arising havoc on all significant economies. So, it is not approximately oil interior the small term, yet interior the macro-view. and that's what Greenspan became into speaking approximately. that's why the "conflict for oil" crowd is erroneous.

Yet another Bush insider "leaking: information against Bush.
Here are a few others:
Frontline: The lost year in Iraq -BUSH INSIDERS document Bush's incompetance at a crucial point in the war, When we had the good will of the Iraqi people Bush (the chimp) wasted it and they turned into Al-Quida Iraq.
The person who "leaked" the names in Bush's Secret Public Energy Policy - all oil corp involved people.
Al-Maliki who "Leaked" he was warming up to an alliance with Iran.
Persons inside the Justice dept who testified that Gonzales fired for political reasons.
The biggest leaks of all are yet to come regarding the Downing Street Papers and the phony 757 that hit the Pentagon, by the way...Why are those 757 remains classified as a secret? What's so secret about a "hijacked" 757?
It's been 6 years and the remains are still secret even from congress? Why? What makes those remains different than any other 757 remains? Unless they are not 757 remains like Bush claims..............

It is an interesting and surprising statement from a longtime Republican... of course, there are lots of Republicans that question this administration on the war.
The people that call him a traitor (or a communist, I don't really see how this even comes into the dialogue but I have heard people say things like this about people that don't approve of Bush) just are ignorant people that don't understand the tenets of free speech. I won't really listen to those people until they take a civics course or get some education on the principles of this nation.

What he actually said was
“I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil,”
When we failed to find weapons of mass destruction there were actually a few people who changed their minds about the war. I took that as evidence that not everyone knew it was about oil. But anyone that follows the financial news and the oil markets as Greenspan and his friends did, knew.

The motive was not WMD's, as there were UN inspections going on bringing Iraq into compliance, destrying weapons which violated UN restrictions.

Any person who speaks truth to power is in for a hard time with the Bush administration. Look at how many generals he fired during the run up and conduct of Bush's war.
I would believe AG over GWB any day.

His truth everybody that has an ounce of common sense already knew.
It's good that a man of such respect is repeating what we already know.
Maybe the ones who have little or no common sense will be swayed by this.
But I won't hold my breath.

Alan Greenspan is a huge reason the economy was so good under Clinton. He is a great American speaking out against and unjust situation and he should be regarded as a hero for it.

Yup. Fiscal conservatives will now have to join the ranks of liberals as being the most hated people by neoconservatives.
So move over liberals. Make room for the fiscal conservatives at you leftists commie meeting rooms. You also going to have to print up a whole lot of news cards to issue the fiscal conservatives so they can be card carrying commies too.
