I can smell rain and snow before it gets here.
Autumn, Spring and Summer have a distinctive smell for me.
Unfortunately Winter smells like pollution.... wood burning stoves in the small towns and car exhaust in the cities.
I have noticed that most people have very poor noses or a poor sense of smell. Those of us with a good sense of smell are in the minority.

You're not weird. Atmospheric changes can cause the air pressure to change, and thus affect the air we breathe. Not only can I sense a few days before a big rain, but I can recognize tornado weather instinctively. Take care, Andrea

I don't know why. The air does have a very different 'smell' to it as weather patterns change and the concentration(s) and type(s) of particulates in the air change.

I think fall has a slight smell to it. I can tell its starting to change because the leaves are changing color and starting to fall.
