America is in a sad state if they vote on fame instead of politics. How is it possible the average American does not know the candidates issues, I'm Canadian and know most of them...

You can thank the media for that. The media has duped the public for so long that we have become desensitized to any information about any upcoming change. We turn our heads away or worse tune out because we think that we can't do anything - and we can - as long as we still have the Constitution. Once we lose the Constitution to the North American Union we will NEVER get is back.

Ron Paul (R-Tex), congressman and republican candidate for president has been seen by Internet observers as doing well both in debates and in terms of public sentiment. His message is one of minimalist government, low taxes and a non-aggressive military policy.

I can't see how Thompson is ahead, reason being despite what coverage he has had, Fred Thompson is likely not the next coming of Ronald Reagan for the Republican party. In an FMNN article, “Fred Thompson Vs. Ron Paul,” pointed out that "Thompson’s record gives rise to questions about his small government and 'federalist' credentials. … While in congress, Thompson, reportedly a good friend of Senator John McCain, (R-AZ), supported two obviously ANTI-FREE market bills: the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform act and the Shays-Meehan bill restricting issue ads.

"He is also a member of Council on Foreign Relations, (CFR) a main think-tank behind the idea of a North American Union that would eventually dissolve borders between Mexico, Canada and the United States to create one big super-nation. Thompson also seems to believe in a robust military presence worldwide and apparently advocates continued US military involvement in Iraq."

As for Thompson and federalism, he's solid on the issue - so solid that he was on the losing end of many 99-1 Senate votes because of his federalist principles. So, you ask a great question...How can Thompson be leading?

i'm with you in this one. Thompson sounded good. yet he's purely too late interior the sport. And little money. I enjoyed the way he went after Huckabee. And what he stated replaced into authentic. i might choose to make certain a Romney/Thompson cost tag. Ron Paul-there's a guy who needs to get his head out of the sand. We share this planet with 100s of different countries. Being associates and helping one yet another is a thank you to maintain peace. while he says that the clarification there are wars interior the middle east is by using the fact we are there and we interfere, he lost me. He appeared like an fool. talk approximately clueless. the middle east hate one yet another with or devoid human beings. And having a presence there is in our long term ultimate interest.

Most people in the US don't realize that Ron Paul is more of a Libertarian than a Republican.

The Republican's think he is a democrat because of his libertarian views (non-interventionist policy as shown voting against the patriot act and the Iraq war)

The Democrat's think his a a republican for his libertarian views ( totally against a single payer health care system like Canada)

Since both are against him, he either has something right or is totally wrong.

He is the only one that the fundis and the cons would get behind. I hope he is left behind. He was never a good actor and even worse as a politician.

because he's semi famous before the election and few people know who ron paul was before this election, people who are well known prior to this usually do better in early polling until the lesser-knowns gain name recognition
