The majority of technological inprovements that our country has experienced have happened because of war or space exploration. Most of the advanced trauma techniques that are employed by hospital E.R.s are a direct result of war.
Now, I don't like wars. I was in the military, so I know what happens in them. No soldier wants to go to war. They prepare for war in the hopes of never having to use that training. The person that posted this answer is just repeating the anti war mantra.

Ending poverty? Please, for 40 years (before 1994) the democrats had control of the legislature and threw money at problems telling the public that more money would solve the problems. After 40 years, the poverty rate was still the same, and how many billions of dollars were spent to end poverty? All the dems did was create a new democratic voting block. As long as the dems didn't take away their entitlements, they would vote democratic.
Throwing more money at education hasn't improved test scores or our educational ranking in the world. Democratic politicians (not individuals) don't want to fix problems, they just want the issue. Everyone admits that social security is going to have problems when the boomers retire, yet the dems put forth no plans for fixing the problem. They just use the issue to bash republicans.
Go back and look at "big tobacco". If the health consequences are so bad, why didn't they ban tobacco? They didn't ban it because they use it for taxes. They use it as a cash cow.
The money from the war would be used to fund more entitlements to bribe voters.

Our children, and their education. The future of my child means more to me than anything on Earth. I'm sorry that American children have to pay for the attempt at an education, in colleges, and learning skills schools, after highschool, but it is so, and at least then, having to pay, Libs can't program ALL of the young people. I also find it very odd that parents are assumed that they cannot teach their own children. Business owners appear to rather hire a person that has a paper saying they're smart, rather than home schooled young adults. Maybe they should have a test, like SAT's for home schooled kids, and see who is the more educated? Kids from Liberal biased, government controlled colleges, or home schooled? I'd bet all the money on the home schooled kids, that they are the most educated!

Defending Israel, because we all know had we defend the USA 30-40 years ago we would not even have that money.
i think the terror war should be the in USA at least all the money would be staying at home and no one else would get killed, because we all know the terrorist are not willing to come.

If I were a Lib then I would say it is for the children, heath care, homeless, a new move on .orgy museum. A new bigger and better Clinton massage parlor and pool hall where there are free cigars for all.
