problems of helmet?

The safety benefits of a helmet should be pretty obvious. Significant protection against skull fractures and a good percent of protection against low speed impact and subsequent brain swelling. Plus the rarely stated advantage of, with a full faced helmet, the greatly increased probability of an open casket funeral.
Down sides, with any helmet in the event of an accident you risk hyperextention of the neck, I've had it along with the throat strap injuring my voice box.
With a full faced helmet and a frontal impact you run the risk of spinal cord injuries. Of course you could purchase a neck roll like the ones linebackers in football wear to help prevent this.
As far as impairing vision and hearing I personally don't think it significant enough to be of concern. And hot and confining? Probably only comes into play when stuck in traffic or at a signal.
It's not my place to tell you, nor would I attempt to, whether you should and what type of helmet you wear. The insurance companies and their success with influencing our legislatures have already done that as per the state you live in.
The helmet you should wear is the one that makes you feel most comfortable and least impacts your enjoyment of the time you spend on your motorcycle.

I work in a trauma center in Pennsylvania. PA repealed the helmet law a few years ago for some idiotic reason. If you saw the brain injured un-helmeted motorcycle riders that I see, you might wear a helmet. I do.

better believe it helmets really saves life. as far as my personal expeience, i nearly escaped death... as head is the main part governing our body... even small injury could make u sit and **** on bed for whole life..or even get paralysed...
who told that wearing helmets will make u a sisy biker.... ???? its funny.. but its up to u just imagine urself involved in an accident without helmet.... u will find urself without teeth or even jaws.......always remember that safety first and not all the days are equal always be prepared for the bad times. buy a helmet with ISI mark and preferably stylish

You don't need to wear a helmut??? Don't look cool and sexy -- mess up the hair..Other bikers think your a sissy.. When ya don't wear it your the man---ya -- the man....

The choice is up to you mess up the hair with the helmut or breakfasf on the pavement with scrambled brains... ..

Don't wear a hemet, die in a wreck...wear a helmet, die anyway (maybe) no problem...I wear it when it suits me...K ;o)
