After brand the accusations as ludicrous the family is ready to trow a new European aid campaign with the million pounds in excess plus what they hope will be fresh contributions.

Do you think that hair and fluids in the boot of that car even than the fluids for being corrupted do not match perfectly are ludicrous suspicions.

It is right for them to use and ask for more money when they had been totally unable to explain the evidence plus the different trails of blood everywhere thy had been, washed the favorite toy of Madeleine 2 times before British police arrive and other very strange things.

Will you give your money to the McCann's?

I would if I had lots of money floating around. I believe they have enough supporters. I give my money to 2 children in Africa that my 2 girls wanted to sponsor. They told me "Mom you have to save $60.00 a month so we can support our kids"

So that's where my donations go - people who need it more
But I absolutely don't think they killed her

Despite speculation, we really do no know if the McCanns are guilty or not. OK we all know they were neglectful, there's no denying that fact. But, whether they're guilty of anything else or not, I myself do not see why people should donate fro their defence. They have money, they have a house, they have family. Let them use all that up then do as others, go on Legal Aid, which means in reality we all end up paying anyway. Another thought, thinking way ahead. What happens if one or other does serve a jail sentence for having a hand in Madeleine's disappearance and/or death. They will become the most hated pair in UK if not anywhere else. How safe would they be on their release? Not at all, so again, we the general public would be paying for them to be given a whole new identity and a new life somewhere else. Life's not fair at all - especially for poor little Madeleine.

There is a big difference between funds.

The Madeleine fund is to find her and it is shocking that it has taken this long for it to start spending the money when it was obviously urgent that this sort of thing should have been done much earlier!!

The McCann defence fund is nothing short of obscene!! Whether they are guilty or not is irrelevant. These people are giving huge sums of money (Sir Richard Branston reportedly £100,000) to the main suspects.

Whilst they insist they are innocent they are in the frame and will continue to be so for some time.

I wonder if Ian Huntley can expect some largess from these people!

Pity the poor people who are not rich and famous. The parents who loose a child but live in a council house!!

This ranks as pure class bias!!!!

Never believe everything that the media tells you... Some of the rumours have probably been twisted.
No-one even knows if Maddie is alive or dead because there is no body to prove either way. I still say innocence until proven guilty.
Would I give money to the McCann's...I'd need to think that over.

No I would not. Why do they need all this money if they are saying they are not guilty - surely if they have nothing to worry about then the Portuguese will not find any evidence to be able to prosecute. Secondly, since when has money found a missing person. The funds should be used to educate parents on how to look after their children - you know, fairly simple stuff like, don't leave your babies unattended. Nothing too taxing.

Have gave at the beginning but with the present climate now unlikely to contribute. Lets hope something constructive in the case happens this week. What they originally called clear evidence as in blood etc they are now saying not really accurate so it is very difficult for 'Joe Public' to decide who to believe in this case.

No I will not. They are wealthy people with good incomes, property and a large supportive family. I'm skint. If I was going to donate money to anyone it would most definitely not be them. If they can't afford their legal fees then why did they hire one of the most expensive lawyers in the country?

No. There is a lot of suspicion around them and their friends at the moment, and until they are proved to be innocent, my money is going nowhere near any McCann fund.

No, I think everyone should concentrate on Maddy and not her parents legal fund, innocent or not it seems really selfish to me that they ask or money for their own legal fund when their daughter is still missing.

Absolutely no way. Not going to send my hard earned money to them with so much suspicion around them. Nobody knows if Maddie is dead or alive and whether the parents had a hand in it.

Surely it's a bit premature isn't it? They have a 'little local difficulty' to clear up in Portugal I would have thought, before trying to get more money from the public.
