yes they are contenders. their defense is the most underrated defense in the league. the offense still needs some work. specifically with the OL. favre doesnt have the normal 4 seconds he needs in the pocket, otherwise he is sacked. the rb's only average 2 yards a carry, which forces favre to throw more than he should have to. the defense on the other hand is pretty dang good and will keep the packers alive. yeah, reggie white died a few years ago. it's sad and he is missed as he was the greatest defensive lineman to play the game.
yeah, times have changed since the 96' season. the receivers and tight ends retired. the OL disolved, all the defenders of that team retired, and edgar bennett is now the rb's coach for the packers.

Ignore all the haters of Favre which is why many don't like the Packers.
Yes Favre is back and healthier than ever. He has already said in press conferences in WI that he still has a couple years left in him.
Last year, Green Bay went 8-8 and barely missed the playoffs. This year, they have a ligit chance after getting some more offensive weapons. GB starting running back will be back this week after injuries.
Yes Reggie White died a couple of years ago around Christmas time. I believe it was from heart failure or a heart attack. Something along those lines.
Favre is the only remaining Packer from the Superbowl days. Everyone else is done playing football but some are commentators in football.
As always, Favre will and can bring the Pack back on top. Green Bay will see the playoffs this year with second year head coach Mike McCarthy.
Go Green Bay!!!!!

if the o-line gets into a rhythm then the running game will come around and the sooner that happens, the more likely they will make the playoffs. i wouldn't say a contender for the super bowl, but theres a def. possibility that they could win the division. in regards to the super bowl XXXI team, favre is the last of them left since they let william henderson go this offseason.

hello, they do have a very different team and went 8-8 last year. this year i feel they will make playoffs and a legiit contender for the superbowl. they have b.favre who is still good. good recievers like james joines donald driver and greg jennings. they also have a great D in players like kampman , aj hawk and nick barnett. the only problem is their inexperienced running backs but hopefully they do well. hope this is a good update, have fun following them as i will too

Look at where the packs are right now. Plus look how AMAZING Favre did against the giants. He did great. So yeah, this may very well be his BEST year.

Most are gone now. Like Farve but he needs alot of help in order to have a chance and sorry to say, the team didn't give him any real help on offense. Still he can get it done if he had a few more weapons but he doesn't have them. He needs a reciever to help Driver,a runningback and tightend and in my feelings he doesn't have them (look at last week) they won but not by offense. This is and should be his last year, great guy but time to hang it up.

As a Packer fan, you gotta have self belief. yet as an universal point of view, they nonetheless have a solid danger. by ability of the commerce time shrink, the will probably p.c.. up a working returned and a linebacker to change grant and Barnett. with a bit of luck, it could finally end up for the extra useful.

Well that guy is still around but hes washed up! I dont think they have the potential to get to the playoff this year. Looking at their schedule, they may be lucky to get 6 games this season
