I really enjoyed Willow (Val Kilmer looking fresh & pretty hot int his), Blade Runner is excellent, agree that Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day Off are great fun. Schlocky horror fun to be had in Critters and Arachnophobia which I think were late 80's (poss early 90's), also liked Warlock. Dirty Dancing definitely girls night in movie and for sentimental entertainment I guess you'd have to go a long way to beat ET which I don't think you can ever be too old for. OOh and agreee with everyone about Lost Boys, good film great soundtrack!
Enjoy, your viewing whatever you watch.

Money Pit (Tom Hanks), Can't Buy Me Love (Patrick Dempsey), Raising Arizona (Nicolas Cage), Don't Tell Her It's Me (you may find this movie under a new name of The Boyfriend School) starring Jami Gertz & Steve Guttenberg. Weird Science with Anthony Michael Hall. These are a few I can think of quickly other than a lot more that other people have already given you.
These 5 movies are comedies.
Good luck & enjoy!

there are some really good films that have been already mentioned: top gun, goonies, lost boys, ferris bullers day off, princess bride, private benjamin, beverly hills cop (classic eddie murphy), footloose, and a classic....dirty dancing
i know its not from the 80's but another good film is empire records, really funny and with some familier faces before they went on to other things - liv tyler, rory cochrane, anthony lapaglia, robin tunney and rene zellweger
