Brinlarr, you say "to belong to AL qaeda you have to believe in violence", what makes you believe that? The Catholic church had the crusades, do be Catholic do you have to believe in violence?
You're a liberal, when you're asked a question that exposes the falacy of your thinking, you attack the questioner, this time by calling me a "troll". A "troll", according to the "free on-line dictionary of computing", "Trolling aims to elicit an emotional reaction from those with a hair-trigger on the reply key". That was not my intent, which is why I addressed the post to Liberals.
I honestly believe the liberal point of view is that yes, it IS unfair to paint all of Al Qaeda with the same brush.

Commandercody, yes, I would have made a good german in 1932. Germany had been destroyed my the hyperinflation caused my the war reparations they were forced to pay after WW1, and they were also in the same depression that the USA was in. The communists were on the verge of taking over. Kurt von Schleicher became Chancellor of Germany in Dec 1932. If I was german at that time, I'd be pro-Germany and I'd want what is best for Germany. Because I'm an American in 2007, I'm pro-America. I want America to win, I believe America is a great country. You sound a lot like a traitor. In case you actually want to know what you're talking about, here's some information about Germany in 1932: http://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/riseofhitler/collapse.htm

Even it's most rational form Islam is a religion dedicated to the concept of oppression. As for Al Qaeda, they are simply an example of what Islam is capable of becoming when left to it's own devices, without any outside calming influences. I would argue that the radical Islamic Fundamentalists are actually an example of Islam in its truest, purest form. Others want to pretend that Islam is a peaceful religion, which is their right. I would say however, that those who fail to recognize the true nature of Islam do so at their own peril. Al Qaeda is simply one of many groups which give us the opportunity to see the true heart of Islam.

There is no good apples in Al Qaeda or any other group connected to them. I am trying to equate any common sense in your question and found none at all. Because the whole world have been witnesses of their attacks all over the world, killing innocent men, women, and children and for no good reason at all.
It seems that you get your information from newspapers and the television news only. Try researching what is going on and why. Read "Iran's Games and Americas Fate" by doing an on-line search, this will definitely give you some insight as to what and why all of this is taking place. Also why Bush and Israel is accusing Iran and Syria of being meddlers in all of that regions problems. Including the misconception of the west by those whom also doesn't research anything they make comment to. Which comes down to Al Qaeda being a proxy for the aforementioned countries, including Russia.

You honestly believe that because you are uninformed. Al-Quaida is the Saudi radical group of about 200 members, whose purpose was to punish the US for having an Air Force base in Saudi Arabia which they consider to be the Holy land.
Your hero, GWB, squandered American treasure and blood on a personal mission of revenge against Saddam, who had banned Al-Quaida, and was the sworn enemy of bin Laden, leader of Al Quaida.
He then closed the Air Force base in question.
The people who told you that they had something to do with Islam, or that Muslims supported Al-Quaida before the invasion of Iraq are lying to you.
You would have made a good German in 1932.
You don't make a very good American.

I think you are confusing Muslims with Al Qaida. Not all Muslims are terrorists. All Al Qaida are bad apples within the Muslim community. Is that a fair assumption or do you perceive the war on terror is against the whole Muslim community and not just the jihadists?
Also, when you refer back to the Crusades, you are doing the same thing radical Muslims do which is never stop avenging for what happened hundreds of years ago. That is why they don't seem to be able to move forward in their lives.

I think legitimate Conservatives condemn the actions of an EXTREMIST organization. They act on the philosophy of the Korran, which delusionally justifies all of their bullshit. All loyal subordinates of the Al Qaeda are trained to eradicate non-Muslims without sympathy or regret. Liberals would justify themselves as it being stereotypical to assume that all Muslims follow the philosophy of the Korran, when the majority do. Ask an intelligent question.

Actually, yes. It is prejudice.
Let's use the events at Waco, Texas as an example. If you are unfamiliar with them, I will give you a refresher. David Koresh had formed a cult, and about 70 people had joined him, 50 adults and 20 children.
Mr. Koresh was obviously crazy, but stood on his Constitutional Rights, refusing to surrender to the ATF. In the end, the entire compound burnt down, killing all 70 people.
Now, call it 'liberal optimism', but I think that the proper thing to do would be to give each member of the group due process of law, and mete out a punishment to fit the crime. But it's easier to lump all the 'bad guys' together, isn't it? Just kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out, huh?
Hey, if the neo-cons want to hunt down terrorists, go for it. But don't try to convince me of your racist views. And quit spending money on wars that we don't need. As long as it makes economic sense, you can kill anyone ya want....but lining the pockets of corporations like Haliburton at the expense of the American taxpayer is something that EVERY American should question.

There's a database that tracks terrorist attacks. It's interesting to note that there were about 2,000 Mid-East terrorist attacks from 1968 to 2000. But, during Bush's Administration, that number jumped to 12,000 over 7 years. He's not making the world safer. He's just making the world angrier.

I think the Liberal point of view is actually to avoid having to face the ugly facts about human nature which do not comport with their plan for socialism and "world peace."
Liberals will blame the police for inner city violence. They will not blame a poor education mentality, lack of employability skills or welfare.
Liberals will blame all religion for the unwillingness of people to tolerate a world without moral boundaries.
Liberals will blame Bush for causing terrorism, because terrorism shows Liberals a side of humanity which does not factor into their plans for world peace.

My political views are neutral. However Al Qaeda is a terrorist organization period. so, YES it needs to be destroyed completely.
Another fine example of political ignorance.
Let me educate you. they are an organization not a Country, religion, government, or a sector of a government. I think you are confused not stupid. A organization is a group of people that share the same beliefs, that belief in their case is terrorism. Understand now.
