You can rehome horses from the RSPCA, Bluecross, Mare & Foal sanctuary etc. If you're adopting one for riding purposes, they'll assess your riding skills and also make sure you have adequate stable knowledge and such. I should imagine there'll be an adoption fee of some sort, but it won't be too expensive. Just google 'horse rehoming' and see where your nearest sanctuary is. x

You didn't say where you were located but if you want one cheap, a rescue place is a good way to go. You'll be helping a horse that needs a new home and usually the fee for adoption isn't as high as buying one outright. You can also go to auctions but you had better take someone that really knows horses along with you as you never know what goes thru the auctions sometimes. Some horses are great bargains and some are very definitely NOT!! And sometimes you can find a great adoption thru the humane society too. Other than that, that's about the cheapest way i can think of to get a horse other than to steal one LOL And for some reason that's frowned on any more! (that's a joke!)
You might also think of trading your current pony for a larger one - maybe someone is wanting to trade down in size just when you want to trade up? Check with your local 4-H and Pony club groups and see what you can find out about that. Hope you find that new horse for yourself!! Good luck!

Best thing to do is to look for one locally. Then you can arrange to try the horse out before possibly buying it! Never buy a new pony over the phone/Internet. Always buy one from somewhere nearby.
good luck and have fun! :D

There are various Horse fairs around the country but the best one i know of is the one held in the New Forest around this time of year. It is held somewhere near Sway and well worth going to see if nothing else.
Good Luck.

I would stick with local people. Ask people you already know who own horses. They may know where you can find a good one. I often help friends find horses. surely you have friends that know people who have horses.
Going through friends makes it less likely to be cheated as well.

Take alook at a re-homing centre ( ask the R.S.P.C.A) they will be able to give the nearest one to you.
Give a horse/pony aloving home and make them happy.
