i have writen a first draft and the teacher says i need to provide evidence

my essay is about weither it is right to keep animals in zoo

and i cant find any quotes to use, like polar bears going insane and stuff like tht

I believe that a good zoo can be of tremendous value to the cause of conservation and education.

Equally, I am aware that some zoos exist purely as a kind of 'freak show' where animals, often badly housed and cared for, are exploited by their owners and degraded by members of the Public who seem to find many of the actions of the animals similar to their own! A zoo which exploits its collection solely for the purpose of making money or 'amusing' the Public should be closed immediately and without option.

Many zoos are now actively involved in breeding and study programmes which may well help to prevent the extinction of some rare species from the wild. The excellent intention of these zoos to release zoo bred rarities back into the wild has not proved particularly successful as yet, but I believe that this aspect needs further research and study.

So, the short answer to this question is that I fully support zoos which aim to educate the Public, carry out programmes of practical scientific research - and, of course, provide the best possible care and housing, feeding and veterinary back-up for their collections.
